Peter Banki

Peter is one of the foundation partners of the firm. He is one of Australia's most respected intellectual property practitioners.

He has more than 20 years’ experience as a copyright and patent litigator and a media and intellectual property advisory specialist. As a patent litigator Peter has been involved in a number of landmark cases including Arico Trading International Pty Ltd v Kimberly-Clark Australia Pty Ltd and Murex Diagnostics Australia Pty Ltd v Chiron Pty Ltd.

Peter has clients in the entertainment, publishing and new media industries. He is chairman of the Australian Copyright Council and has extensive experience in policy development as a member of numerous government and industry committees on intellectual property and related matters.

In March 2008 the Australian Financial Review included Peter in its Best Lawyers of Australia list.

He has degrees in arts and law from the University of Sydney.
